Unless disaster strikes between now and then, at 4:00pm today, I'll sit down in my realtor's office and sign the final paperwork to sell my house to the nice couple who have decided to buy it.

This will mean that settlement on my house in D.C. can go ahead as scheduled next week, and soon I will be moved in to my wonderful new home. :)

Home inspection scheduled for tomorrow, which means that by the middle of next week, I should know what the buyers want in terms of repairs. I really can't think of much, since we did all the functional repairs the inspector found last fall, and everything else I can think of would fall under the 'routine maintenance' category. I'll be signing the contract this evening, assuming no unreasonable details or timelines. Forgot to ask when they want to close, but I'll check all that out when I meet with my realtor tonight.

I don't want to say this too loudly for fear of jinxing it, but I just talked to my Baltimore realtor, and she says she'll have an offer in hand for my house tomorrow. Obviously, she doesn't know what the terms are yet, and it may not be something I can accept, but the fact that I'm getting an offer before the house has even been on the market ( Read more... )

Shingles suck. Just so y'all know. Wearing work appropriate clothes today has been downgraded to 'uncomfortable' from 'screamingly painful' earlier in the week, but I'm still not healed.( Behind the cut: Wills, Steroids, and House News )

Usually, the fall time change gives me energy, because I get a little light on the way to work in the morning, and that always helps my mental state. But I'm not feeling especially energetic today. Mostly I'm feeling like I want to crawl under a rock and not come out until the chaos is over. ( Cut for whining. )

The crazy buyer is now insisting that she didn't falsify anything and she can get financing through her credit union. And my Baltimore realtor had a death in the family Wednesday and has been completely out of touch, so everything has just been nuts ( Read more... )

So, it looks like the buyer's financing on my house in Baltimore is not happening because she fraudulently represented herself to the lender and they didn't do all the verification they should have until after they'd gotten to the point of commitment on the loan.
